As night has set and breeze has turned,
I've heard the news that you were gone.
I hope, you have not been hurt
By ancient, cruel spell at work?
I cannot take away three rubies,
But let me offer these instead -
A compliment against prejudice,
As we foresee what looms ahead.
I hope it was worth a venture...
I wonder when we meet again?
I let this necklace carry my affection,
The storm that rises in my veins
Each time I see your beauty, feel your flame,
Contained in perfect vessel of a body,
With shimmer in your eyes to give away
What I prefer exploring rather slowly.
Against all odds, I must confess,
My admiration is no less.
